The Circle of Life

 

In order to discover the life cycles and habitats of a variety of animals students will be researching and investigating an animal.  Students will demonstrate their knowledge of their animal by creating a board game.  

Why:

  • To broaden students understanding of the life cycles of wild life.

  • To gain an understanding of different habitats.

  • A exploration of nonfiction materials and ways to gather information.

  • To continue to practice the importance of critique and creating beautiful work.

  • To foster a love of learning on a topic of student interest.

Essential Question:

  • How do animals grow and change in their natural habitat?

Stages:

  • Students will explore animals within a chosen habitat.

  • Students will research and record information in a journal.

  • Students will work with a partner to research an animal of their choice.

  • Partners will create a game board demonstrating their knowledge of their animal.

  • Game boards will be displayed at Exhibition Night, March 22nd.
