Bonjour!

I am very excited to have the opportunity to be your teacher at HTe!  I grew up in the Midwest and obtained a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with minors in French and Psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.  While attending BGSU, I had the opportunity to study abroad in France and on the Semester at Sea program. I also completed my student teaching in Montreal, Canada in a second grade classroom.  After graduating, I moved to Japan to teach English for a year and a half.  Craving warm weather and beautiful beaches, I moved to San Diego and found a job at The Language Academy.  I taught in French immersion classrooms for six years in grades 1, 3, 4, and 5.  I also finished my master's degree in Teacher Leadership from High Tech High Graduate School of Education in 2010.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, running, swimming, biking, and attempting to learn to surf.  I am always looking for a new adventure and love learning about new cultures so I will travel any chance I get. 

 

This school year I look forward to learning and growing with you!  I can't wait to learn more about your interests and work together to create amazing and fun projects.  I know that it is going to be a fantastic year and I can't wait to get to know you!
